Cat Power Miami reviews
brandi and band were more than expected
The band and the audience shared an incredible energy level as soon as they came on stage. Many of her known songs received a tumultuous response, along with many of her new ones. Cat Power and the whole band delivered a nonelectric, no mike performance of a new song at the edge of the stage, creating dramatic moments. A great audience sing along to "Turpentine" and an incredible jam to "Folsom Prison Blues" were highlights of the night. The electric rock approach of the band was most noticeable. The band's impeccable rocking out on many songs was very well received. Cat Power was really enjoying herself and shared many heartfelt anecdotes with tremendous appreciation for the crowd reaction. Not disappointed as a senior citizen fan of her two acoustic cds, even with the higher energy level renditions of the songs. I can tell I am going to like the new album, which will be released this week. Her voice was just as amazing live as on her recordings.
